I’m glad you are here!
I was raised in a family with a keen sense of appreciation for nature, how we exist in it and all it does for us. Using herbs in food and as medicine from a young age, instilled a love for botanical medicine. Personally experiencing healing transformation through acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine for some kidney concerns, I realized there is more to healing than just medications. Through my own health struggles with PCOS and thyroid issues, I noticed the power of nutrition and lifestyle in healing. Naturopathic medicine uses all these treatment modalities along with conventional medications and advanced therapies to support the healing power of the body. I truly believe that our bodies and minds are amazing, we just need to support it the right way to see shifts in our health.
Background
How I got into Naturopathic Medicine
I began my post-secondary education pursuing an Advanced Diploma in Biomedical Engineering, where I learned about medical technology and systems. However, I quickly realized that my true passion was understanding the human body, especially anatomy and physiology. I found myself spending countless hours studying how the body functions and how health issues develop at a deeper level. At the same time, I was dealing with my own health challenges, including missing periods, unexplained weight gain, and constant bloating. Despite seeking help, I struggled to find answers. This experience led me to search for natural treatment options and ultimately inspired me to become the kind of naturopathic doctor I needed during that time. I wanted to help women facing similar hormone imbalances, PCOS symptoms, and reproductive health concerns find real solutions.
I later attended the University of British Columbia with the goal of becoming a conventional family physician. However, I realized that I wanted to spend more time with patients, understand their full health story, and focus on root cause medicine rather than just symptom management. This realization led me to naturopathic medicine, where I could combine science with a holistic approach to healing. A medical anthropology course during my second year changed how I viewed health and healing. It gave me the confidence to pursue a career as a naturopathic doctor specializing in women’s health, hormone balance, and natural fertility treatment. After completing 10 years of post-secondary education, including a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program, I not only gained clinical expertise but also learned how to heal my own body. Today, I support women who are dealing with PCOS, hormonal imbalance, thyroid issues, infertility, and weight loss challenges. My goal is to help you feel better, restore balance, and become the healthiest version of yourself without needing to navigate the system alone.
